Find Your Conversation Going in Circles?

Ever find your conversation going in circles? Sometimes people get stuck.

It happens when colleagues argue over who dropped the ball on a project, or family members focus on who said what in the past.

Colleagues may assert who is always picking up the slack, finishing the project, showing up on time, or staying late. Spouses might accuse each other of never being home, or always working, golfing, or looking at the phone.

These conversations share a common theme. Folks replay a moment or series of past moments again and again. Time and energy stay stuck without considering what you really wish to create.

You may continue to go around in circles about who did not say or do what and stay right there. When you continue talking about the problem, you stay stuck in the problem. Would you like a closer more connected relationship? Wish for more help and support? Looking for a more efficient working relationship? When you get clear about what you seek, you are more likely to create that result.

It is important to understand the issues and assess where you are. It rarely, if ever, helps to keep your attention there. To move forward, it helps to clarify the vision of what you wish to see happen.

You either come from the problem or you come from the solution. This means you either live your life by default or you live your life by design.

Would you prefer to live your life by design?
